A913 closed: Cyclist rushed to hospital after serious road crash in Fife

A cyclist has been rushed to hospital following a serious road accident on the A913 in Fife.

Fife police closed the road at 6.43am at Parbroath crossroads, Moonzie Junction and Lady Burn at Balgarvie Road, and people were urged to stay away from the area.

This is affecting people heading from parts of central Fife, near Cupar, westbound towards Perth.

There have also been reports of some heavy traffic on the nearby A92 as a result. There is also no access to the A92 from the A913.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police Scotland were called at 6.43am on Thursday 26 September to an RTC on the A913 Cupar to Newburgh road, involving a van and a cyclist.

"The male cyclist has been taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee and there are no further details on injuries at this time.

"The road has been closed at the Parbroath crossroads, Moonzie Junction and Lady Burn at Balgarvie Road, with drivers asked to avoid the area in the meantime."
