A911 closed: Two adults and a child rushed to hospital after crash on busy fife road

The A911 in Fife was closed this morning due to a three vehicle accident which left two adults and a child in hospital.

The busy route was off-limits between Glenrothes and Leven for more than 90-minutes, with police at the scene.

Emergency services were alerted around 11.30am on Boxing Day following reports of a multi-vehicle crash near Milton of Balgonie.

On arrival they closed the road, with diversions put in place via Markinch. Traffic was said to be coping well with the diversion, with no additional lengthy queues reported.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 11.35am on Saturday, 26 December, police were called to a report of a three car road crash on the A911 at the Markinch junction.

"Two adults and a child were taken to hospital and the road was reopened by 1.10pm."
