A77 Turnberry resurfacing work to start on Monday

A 350m section of the A77 South of Turnberry is due to be resurfaced.

The works will start on Monday, September 28 and a daytime convoy traffic management system will be employed between 7.30am and 6pm.

The resurfacing works is part of Transport Scotland’s strategic trunk road management programme and will be carried out by Amey.

Alan Murray, assistant planned maintenance manager said: “It is vital that we complete these works in order to maintain road safety.

“This is an important section of the trunk road network, and as such is used by emergency services, freight, retail and delivery traffic as part of their essential working.

“This short programme will be carried out under daytime convoy working, in order to reduce the impact on communities as they recover at this time.

“Amey on behalf of Transport Scotland, would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their patience while we deliver this important improvement project.”

Drivers are advised to allow some extra time for their journeys, in order to travel through the convoy system.

Emma Burns, Amey’s planned maintenance manager added: “Amey fully recognises the importance of a safe and reliable trunk road network.

“An efficient and well-managed trunk road network is particularly important to supporting essential supply chains and the wider economy at this time.”
