Drivers are being warned of a closure on the A77 next week.
Resurfacing between the Cassillis Hotel and the Maybole North Gateway will start next week and the trunk road will be closed from the evening of Friday 16 until the early morning of Monday 19 of October, with a further two overnight closures on the Monday and Tuesday.
Lewis Dorans, Amey’s project lead on the programme said: "This is an extremely important section of the trunk road network, and as such is used by emergency services, freight, retail and delivery traffic as part of their essential working.
"It is vital that we complete these works in order to maintain road safety. To condense the working period, this project will be carried out under a full weekend closure, reducing the longer term impact on this community as it recovers at this time."
The works will be delivered under a full weekend closure of the trunk road, with two subsequent overnight closures implemented during the following times:
- 8pm on Friday 16 until 6am on Monday 19 of October
- 8pm on Monday 19 until 6am on Tuesday 20 October
- 8pm on Tuesday 20 until 6am on Wednesday 21 October
Diversions will be in place throughout this weekend closure. Drivers are advised to allow plenty of additional time for their journeys.
Special arrangements have been made for emergency service vehicles. No extra measures will be implemented for windfarm traffic or other abnormal load vehicles during this period.
