A77 remains closed south of Girvan as police attempt to recover lorry

The A77 remains closed south of Girvan this afternoon following an accident involving a lorry.

Police say poor weather is delaying the recovery of the truck, which has been blocking the road since around 7.30pm last night.

Police are urging drivers to avoid the route, with diversions in place.

Motorists should use the A714 and A75 in order to travel both north and soundbound.

The road between Girvan and Ballantrae is closed in both directions.
