The A77 bypass has been closed in Ayr tonight as emergency services deal with an ongoing incident.
Police have shut the busy road in both directions at the Whitletts and Holmston roundabouts.
Two vehicles have been involved in a collision, closing the road.
It remains shut almost two hours on from the incident this evening with emergency services still on scene.
Diversions are in place through town.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 6.50pm to a report of a two-vehicle crash on the A77 at Whitletts roundabout, Ayr.
"Emergency services are in attendance and the road is currently closed.”
