An overturned lorry has shed its load in Ayr this afternoon, causing one of the town's main roads to be closed.
The A77 is shut southbound at the Bankfield roundabout due to the accident.
Northbound lanes currently remain open but traffic on all approaches is extremely heavy.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area if possible.
