A75 blocked for two hours near Haugh of Urr after German TV production lorries collide

The A75 was blocked for nearly two hours after two television production lorries collided.

The accident happened near Haugh of Urr at around 11.45am on Tuesday.

The lorries, both belonging to German firm TVN Group, had been heading towards Dumfries. The company was involved in covering the previous evening’s football match between Germany and Northern Ireland in Belfast.

A police spokeswoman said no one was seriously hurt in the accident but there were “significant tailbacks” in both directions with the eastbound carriageway blocked.

The road was fully re-opened around 1.45pm.
