A737 closed at Kilbarchan

Police have closed the busy A737 road due to an ongoing incident.

It is currently closed southbound at Kilbarchan, with drivers advised to find an alternative route.

Highways agency Traffic Scotland tweeted that the road is shut, affecting the B787 Johnstone and B789.

Traffic Scotland said: "The A737 is closed southbound at Kilbarchan due to an ongoing police incident. Road users are advised to use an alternative route and allow extra time for their journey."
