A735 road closure alert for Ayrshire motorists

Motorists in East Ayrshire are being advised of a New Year road closure as resurfacing works kick-off this week.

From Wednesday, January 6, a stretch of the A735 will be temporarily closed while the "essential" makeover project is carried out by staff.

The closure will run from Standalane at Kilmaurs to Brackenburn Bridge and the North Ayrshire boundary.

Vehicles will be unable to use the route from 9am to 4pm each day, Ayrshire Roads Alliance chiefs confirmed yesterday.

It's expected that the work will be completed by Friday, January 15.
