One man rushed to hospital after two-car crash closes road in Livingston during rush hour

A rush-hour crash closed the A71 in West Lothian in both directions this morning.

The incident, involving two cars, took place shortly before 8am at the Lizzie Brice Roundabout in Dedridge, in Livingston.  

The road was closed while the incident was cleared causing traffic tailbacks in the area as motorists were urged to find an alternative route.

One man was taken to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary for treatment following the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Police were called around 7.50am to a report of a two vehicle crash on the A71 at the Lizzie Brices roundabout in Dedridge, Livingston.

"Emergency services attended and one man was taken to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary."
