A71 between Hurlford and Galston to be closed 'for some time' after road crash

An Ayrshire road has been closed by police following a collision this morning.

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision near East Holmes Farm on the A71 between Galston and Hurlford.

And Ayrshire Roads Alliance has advised that the road will be closed "for some time".

Officials have said that a diversion route via the A719 has been put in place.

Ayrshire Police Division said: "The A71 is currently closed between Hurlford and Galston due to a road traffic collision near to East Holmes Farm. Emergency services are in attendance – drivers are encouraged to find an alternative route."

The Ayrshire Roads Alliance added: "@policescotland have closed the A71 from Hurlford to Galston due to RTA – road will be closed for sometime, diversion route will be A719."
