A52 closed for 5 hours as emergency services called to 'serious' crash

A major road has reopened after it was shut for several hours following a serious road traffic collision near Nottingham.

The stretch of the A52 eastbound between the A6011 and A46 was closed at around 8.25pm on Sunday (December 26) evening.

National Highways Tweeted to say that due to the nature of the incident, the road was expected to remain closed for several hours, which it was.

Despite the closure, at around 8.55pm on Sunday, National Highways said there were minimal delays on the approach to the section of the A52 which was closed.

The road finally reopened at around 1.30am this morning (Monday, December 27).
