A48 Crack Hill in Bridgend closed after serious crash

A woman has been taken to hospital after a serious crash in Bridgend.

The emergency services were called to reports of a single-vehicle crash on the A48 Crack Hill near The Golden Well Chinese restaurant, in Brocastle, at 6.54pm.

The A48 Crack Hill remains closed in both directions from the B4524 Corntown Road to the Brocastle Manor Apartments.

Police, ambulance and the fire service were at the scene and an air ambulance was called out as a precaution. Drivers have been asked to use an alternative route.

A spokeswoman from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that a woman was cut out of a car by crews from Bridgend and was taken to hospital.
