A467 closed between Abertillery and Blaina after crash involving cars and a motorbike leaves four injured

A road in Blaenau Gwent was closed after a crash involving several vehicles.

Police said a crash took place at around 2pm on the A467 between Abertillery and Blaina and involved three vehicles including a motorbike.

According to the Welsh Ambulance Service there were four people injured with three patients taken to hospital and one being treated at the roadside.

A spokeswoman for the service said they were all "conscious and breathing".

A spokesman for Gwent Police said: "Emergency services are dealing with a road traffic collision on A467 between Abertillery and Blaina.

"The road is closed and diversions are in place which may cause congestion. Please avoid the area if possible and find alternative routes for your journey."

The A467 is was  closed in both directions between Castle Street in Abertillery and Station Road in Blaina. Pictures show the air ambulance attended the scene.

The road has reopened.
