A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital following a serious crash near Bristol Airport earlier this evening (July 28).
One car and one motorcycle were involved in the incident on Bridgwater Road shortly before 5.20pm.
Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene, and conveyed the motorcyclist to Southmead Hospital. Police are carrying out enquiries at the scene.
A spokesperson for Avon and Somerset Constabulary said they are dealing with a "serious injury" collision.
They added: "We were called shortly before 5.20pm this evening to reports of a road traffic collision on Bridgwater Road near Bristol Airport.
"One motorcycle and one car were involved in the incient.
"The motorcyclist has been taken to Southmead Hospital with potentially serious injuries.
"The A38 southbound had been closed at the Airport Tavern, with traffic being diverted via Brockley Coombe Road.
"The northbound carriageway is open, however traffic is moving very slowly in the area."
Police have also put out an appeal for anybody who may have dashcam footage of the incident, or the moments surrounding it.

Bristol Airport has warned customers to leave extra time for their journeys due to significant delays in the area.
Elsewhere in Bristol, emergency services were rushed to a serious crash in Redfield this afternoon - on a junction of Church Road. One car was left on its side after the incident.
