A370 crash in Weston-super-Mare: Drivers caught using phone as they pass crash scene

Two motorists were caught using their phone while driving past a crash on A370 in Weston-super-Mare this evening (Thursday, October 22).

The pair passed police officers who were dealing with a two-vehicle smash.

A member of Avon and Somerset Police's road safety team said the offenders would be receiving a fine in the post.

They tweeted: "The A370 in Weston-super-Mare is now open after a 2 vehicle RTC. Occupants suffered minor injuries. Whilst dealing with the incident 2 other drivers were seen using mobile phones to photograph the scene.

"Dont worry though, we have your registration numbers.

"Tickets will be issued in due course."

A later tweet added: "We are also appealing for any witnesses who may have seen the incident or those who have it on dash cam. Please call 101 quoting incident number 838 of today’s date."
