A199 in East Lothian blocked as fire crews battle car blaze

Emergency services are currently at the scene of a car fire in East Lothian.

The A199 is currently blocked in both directions, near the Macmerry Industrial Estate in Tranent, due to the blaze.

Fire crews and police were called to the scene at around 7:20am this morning amid reports of a car on fire.

While it is unclear how many appliances are in attendance, a Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson confirmed they are currently "dealing with a vehicle alight".

Police say no one was injured in the fire.

Traffic is already queuing in the area with long delays expected this morning.
