The northbound carriageway of the A19 in County Durham has been closed after a car crashed off the road.
Emergency services have closed the section of road in Cold Hesledon between the A182 and the B1404 Seaton Lane after receiving reports of the incident at 6.45pm on Friday.
A spokesperson from Durham Constabulary said it was believed the incident involved one vehicle, which has left the carriageway.
They said: "The A19 is closed northbound at the moment as we get things sorted out.
“We have no estimated time of the road reopening at the moment.
“We still have officers at the scene."
A spokesperson from North East Ambulance Service confirmed that they attended the scene but there is currently no information on whether anyone was injured in the incident.
Diversions have been put in place in the area via the A182, B1285 and the B1404, while the closure is in place.
