A1 singer Ben Adams has announced he’s become a father for the first time after the arrival of his baby girl.
The early 00’s pop heartthrob - whose hits include Like A Rose and Take On Me - welcomed his daughter on Saturday.
Sharing a photo of him curled up with the newborn, the star simply wrote: “Meet Skylar Skjoldnes Adams. Arrived on 25/09/21 at 20.41 (due date) and she slept next to me most of the night. Amazing.”
Praising his fiancee Sara Skjoldnes, he added: “In awe of [Sara] (and every other woman that has gone through childbirth tbh)……thank goodness I didn’t have to do that! and yes I cut the umbilical chord, and no I didn’t eat the placenta #rikshospitalet.”

The happy family are currently living in Oslo, Norway, with Ben sharing updates of the impending birth with his fans online in the run up to the arrival.
They announced they were expecting back in April, launching a podcast to document their journey to parenthood shortly afterwards.
“Well, we are suuuuuper happy to announce that we are having a baby!” they said at the time. “And so that you can all join us on our journey into consciously saying goodbye to our freedom for at least the next 18 years or so, we have created a podcast called 'THE BABY POODCAST'!”

Ben has removed himself from the spotlight over the past few years, quitting A1 in 2002 for ‘personal reasons’. The band later reformed in 2007 to continue making music and appear on The Big Reunion TV series.
During the band’s heyday, Ben was responsible for penning some of the group’s biggest hits, including Same Old Brand New You, and Caught In The Middle.
He’s since produced music for acts including Alexandra Burke, Union J and Robin Thicke.
He also appeared on Skal Vi Danse – the Norwegian version of Strictly Come Dancing - and had appeared on Celebrity Big Brother 2009, placing fifth with Ulrika Jonsson eventually winning.
The couple has been together for the past 12 years, with Ben popping the question and asking Sara to marry him at the end of 2019.
They initially planned to get married in August 2020, but were forced to postpone the wedding as a result of the pandemic.
