A1 reopens after lorry jack-knifed across central barrier

The A1 has now reopened after a lorry jack-knifed across the central reservation.

The incident happened on the northbound carriageway  at Elkesley, near to Gamston airfield.

A car is believed to have collided with the lorry during the incident before coming off the road.

Nottinghamshire Police was called just after 8.30pm on Monday, November 11.

One driver was rescued from the car with injuries not believed to be life-threatening or life-altering.

The road did not fully reopen until 5.30am on Tuesday (November 12) after a second crash on the A1 affected traffic near North Muskham.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 874 of 11 November.
