A1 Dromore closed after "serious" crash

Two people have been hospitalised after a "serious crash" in Co Down.

It happened on the A1 dual carriageway on Sunday evening, which is now closed in both directions between Banbridge and Dromore.

Both patients have been taken to Daisy Hill hospital.

A PSNI spokesman said: "The A1 dual carriageway has been closed in both directions following a serious RTC at its junction with Halfway Road.

"Diversions are in place and motorists should avoid the area and seek alternative route las for their journey."
