A1 crash sees four adults and child taken to hospital

Four adults and a child were taken to hospital after a crash on the A1 dual carriageway.

It was closed in both directions from around 2pm on Sunday while the emergency services attended the scene.

The air ambulance was also called.

The four adults were taken to the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast, while the child was taken to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children.

It is understood that none of their injuries are serious.

A PSNI spokesman said yesterday: “The A1 has fully reopened following a road traffic collision on the Southbound carriageway, close to Hillsborough, earlier this afternoon.”
