A youth club and a school had their mini buses stolen on the same night - police are now appealing for witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses after a youth club and a school had their mini-buses stolen on the same night.

Thieves struck first at Madhlo Youth Zone in Oldham at about 6.50pm on Monday.

In a post on Facebook the youth club said two men were seen driving the vehicle away 'down the hill towards Shaw Road'.

Staff at the Egerton Road youth club say the bus is 'essential for essential for our community outreach work which provides valuable support to vulnerable young people and their families, especially right now'.

In a post on Facebook a Madhlo spokespertson appealed for witnesses, writing: "Please keep you eyes out and help us get our bus back."

Later that same night a mini-bus was also stolen from the playground at Chadderton Grammar School on Broadway.

Police are now appealing for witnesses.

A post on the GMP Chadderton Facebook page said: "HELP NEEDED, PLEASE SHARE

"We are currently looking into two thefts of minibuses in the Oldham area.

On the evening of Monday, July 6, Mahdlo had their minibus stolen from Egerton Street in Oldham (log number: 699-07072020).

"Then overnight on Monday/Tuesday the Chadderton Preparatory Grammar School's minibus was also stolen (Formerly the Firwood Manor School) from Broadway, Chadderton (Log Number 475-08072020).

"We are asking people to share this post and report any information or sightings direct to 101, and quoting the above log numbers."
