A young Cambridge accountant has been presented with a prestigious award

A commercial account handler has been crowned Young Achiever of the Year by Cambridge Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII).

Josh Simpson was given the award for his work with S-Tech, which provides insurance services as one of the largest independent insurance brokers in the UK.

The candidates for the award must have made a ‘significant contribution to the success of their team with a performance which considerably exceeds the expectations normally associated with someone of their age or experience’.

Mr Simpson said: “My clients’ satisfaction is my top priority and S-Tech has always supported me by giving me the tools I need to develop my skills.

“I’d recommend a role like mine to any young person thinking of a career in the insurance business.”

Established in Cambridge in 1982, S-Tech has particular expertise in a variety of industries, including: technology and life science; research and development; museums and galleries; construction and agriculture; and environmental organisations.

S-Tech managing director Shaun Walker said: “This is a testament to Josh’s efforts throughout the year in terms of his studies, performance and promotion. “All while becoming a dad for the first time.

“I’m sure Josh will be the first to acknowledge the support he’s had from colleagues, so thanks to everybody.”

The CII is a professional body dedicated to building public trust in the insurance and financial planning professions.
