A woman who spent thousands reveals ‘cruel’ reason she was uninvited to friend’s wedding

A woman who spent thousands to attend her friend’s wedding believes she was uninvited because of her job.

In a video shared on TikTok, Dr. Emily Long (@dr.ems), shares how the bride decided didn’t want her at the wedding as she works with Covid patients.

Dr Long claimed to have spent thousands to go to her friend’s wedding in Texas, only to be uninvited at the last moment because of her job.

Attending a wedding can be pretty expensive, with costs adding up quickly - from transport to attire and gifts, something the a Harvard resident knows all to well.

She explained: “Tell me about a time you were uninvited from something because you work in the hospital during a pandemic I’ll go first...

“So tomorrow I was supposed to fly out straight from a 28-hour shift to attend one of my best friend’s wedding events that I spent thousands of dollars on and took my vacation time, which is very limited, to attend.”

In a report in the Irish Mirror the doctor added: “When I texted her this morning to let her know that I was being tested and taking all these precautions before I flew in an attempt to make her feel comfortable, she totally freaked out when she found out that I take care of sick people.

“Who would have thought that a doctor takes care of sick people? I don’t know.

“So I was uninvited because I made her and other people I guess, feel uncomfortable.”

She added: “Anyway, I bought a non-refundable plane ticket to Texas tomorrow so if anyone wants to hang, let me know.”

Dr. Long’s TikTok video has since gone viral, being watched over four million times and garnering more than 550,000 likes.

Thousands also took the time to comment, with one person saying: “You need a new friend sis.”

Another replied: “Hold up, but she’s having a wedding? But she’s worried about you? What on earth.”

A third wrote: “My daughter is an EMT and our whole family was uninvited to events. Yet she is the very person that would take care of them at the ER.”

Someone else added: “That’s just f***ing cruel.. so last minute? Knew you were working in the medical field the whole time anyway? You were taking precautions.”
