A Woman In Her 30s Has Been Found Dead In Her Western Sydney Home After Contracting COVID

A woman in her 30s with COVID-19 has died in her Western Sydney home, according to reports.

According to 9 News, the woman was found unresponsive in her house in the Sydney suburb of Emerton after paramedics attended the property at around 3pm yesterday.

The paramedics performed CPR at the scene, but the woman was declared dead when efforts to revive her proved unsuccessful. Currently it is unknown whether the woman was vaccinated or whether she suffered any underlying medical conditions prior to contracting COVID-19.

ABC News reports that NSW Health has confirmed the woman’s death, adding that it “extends its deepest sympathies to her loved ones”.

The woman’s death will be included in tomorrow’s COVID-19 update, according to ABC News.

There have now been 75 deaths in NSW since the 2021 COVID-19 outbreak began on June 16, with 131 deaths since the start of the pandemic last year. Today, 753 new cases were reported in NSW premier Gladys Berejiklian‘s daily press conference.

9 News reports that police and the Western Sydney health district are currently investigating the woman’s death and have referred it onto the coroner.

More to come.
