A woman has suffered 'life-changing injuries' after falling from M67 bridge

A woman has suffered serious and life-changing injuries after she fell from a motorway bridge.

Emergency services were called to the M67 following reports a woman fell from a bridge at 3.45am this morning (July 29).

The woman, believed to be in her 40s, was taken to hospital in a serious condition.

Greater Manchester Police said she is believed to have suffered life-changing injuries.

The motorway was shut eastbound for several hours this morning, between junction 1A for Crown Point and Junction three for Hyde.

It re-opened at around 6am.

GMP are appealing for anyone with further information or any witnesses to come forward.

A statement said: "Shortly before 3.45am police were called to the M67 motorway to reports that a woman had fallen from a bridge.

"Emergency services attended and a woman – believed to be in her 40s - was taken to hospital in a serious condition. It is believed she has life-changing injuries."

Anyone with information should call 101 quoting incident number 325 of 29/07/20. Reports can also be made anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
