A woman has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in Denton

A woman has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in Denton.

Police were called to Ashworth Street at about 1.50pm on Tuesday.

Officers found a woman in her 40s had been stabbed.

She was taken to hospital where her condition is described as stable.

Her injuries aren't thought to be life-threatening.

No arrests have been made.

Following the incident a large police cordon was put in place, covering most of Ashworth Street.

A blue Kia Picanto could be seen parked in the road inside the cordon.

A GMP spokesperson said: "Initial enquiries are ongoing into the circumstances of the incident but there isn’t thought to be a wider threat to the public at this time."
