A woman dressed up as Carrie for Halloween crashed her car and people thought she'd died

An ambulance worker attending the scene of a car crash thought the person inside was seriously injured but it turned out to be a woman in a gory Halloween costume

Dressed up as Carrie from the classic horror film, Sidney Wolfe wore a white dress and tiara and was covered in fake blood.

The student said on Twitter : "I was promoting Carrie the Musical at a haunted house. At the end of the night, I was too tired to shower and remove my makeup so when I wrecked the car first responders saw my blood and freaked."

She said a deer ran out in front of her car, which caused the collision, the Mirror report.

She added: "Waiting for my parents to come pick me up from the scene, two more policemen showed up. By this time, I was out of the vehicle and making conversation with the people. The new officer says, 'I hate to interrupt but don’t you guys think she needs medical assistance.'"

Fortunately for Sidney, she escaped with only a small bruise on her leg.

Sidney added on Twitter that she had risked her life to promote Carrie the Musical and hoped she had made its author Stephen King proud.

Others told the student they were glad she was safe but found the coincidence hilarious.

One said: "I have no idea who you are and glad you are safe but the whole Carrie/dead thing has me laughing so hard hahaha."

Another told of their own similar experience, writing: "Sis that happened to me two years ago on Halloween. I had my throat fake slit and people thought I was dead because I fainted for a second."
