A woman and her one-year-old baby were pulled into woodland and attacked... police now want to speak to this man

Police have released an e-fit image of a man they want to speak to after a woman and her one-year-old baby were attacked in Salford.

The woman, aged in her 20s, was approached from behind by a man near Hilton Lane in Walkden, Worsley, at around 5.30pm on Friday, July 17.

He grabbed her by the mouth and pulled her towards a wooded area, police said.

During a struggle, the victim's one-year-old son - who was in a pram - was knocked over.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is underway.

Detectives have now released an e-fit of a man they want to speak to as they make an appeal for information.

DC Mike Taylor, of GMP's Salford district, said: "This was a terrifying experience for the woman, who was pushing a pram at the time. I would like to thank her for everything she has done to assist us with our enquiries so far.

"We are committed to identifying the person responsible so have released this e-fit in the hope that there are members of the public out there who can provide us with lines of enquiry.

"If that is you or you have any other information which may be of interest to us, I ask you to contact us or Crimestoppers, anonymously."

Anyone with information should contact police on 0161 856 5194 quoting 2616 of 17/07/20 or the independent charity - Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
