Mask wearing in public has become one of the most visible results of the Covid pandemic.
For a full year, it was mandatory for people to wear a face covering in all public places, unless they claimed a medical exemption.
And it was one of the most controversial aspects of the lifting of all lockdown restrictions in England in July that mask-wearing was no longer a requirement in shops and public transport.

Instead, people were advised to use their own common sense about whether or not to wear one, while the responsibility for enforcing it was delegated to supermarkets and others.
The ECHO asked you for your views on mask wearing now that all lockdown restrictions had been lifted.
It found that 69% of respondents still wore a mask, while 17% answered "Sometimes, but less than I did."
The places where most people still wore masks were in shops or supermarkets (29%), followed by public transport (22%).
But a whopping 91% said people were now wearing face coverings less than they were before the restrictions were lifted.
The most common reason for still wearing a mask was given as "protecting myself and others", while 67% said they still kept their distance when out.
