A white wedding

You may have thought nothing else could go wrong for this week's royal wedding ... but the weather gods have other ideas.

Forecasters at the Met Office today predicted snow, ice and blizzards for this weekend.

The nuptials in Windsor between the Prince of Wales and Camilla Parker Bowles have, of course, been rearranged from this Friday to Saturday to avoid clashing with the Pope's funeral.

Today forecasters said that by Saturday an Arctic blast will leave Windsor a chilly 6C (43F). This is well down on the seasonal average of 12C (54F) and it will apparently feel even cooler with the wind-chill factor and predicted showers.

Bad weather may also blight Saturday's Grand National at Aintree with forecasters predicting temperatures there as low as 5C (41F) and there may also be rain and sleet.
