OK, look: Maybe not everyone around the United States knows what lox is.
I could be wrong, but I’m also from New York City and all I’ve heard smoked salmon called is lox. So I don’t want to have that bias.
That said, a Wheel of Fortune contestant on Wednesday was faced with a puzzle that was “WARM TOASTED BA_ELS WITH LO_ AND CREAM CHEESE.”
You know that first missing word is “BAGELS” (the clue was “Food and Drink”), but the second? If you’re like Angie and maybe had never heard of lox (that “X” can be forgotten in Wheel of Fortune sometimes!), then maybe you too would have guessed “Warm toasted bagels with low and cream cheese.”
Oops.
