A wet and windy week ahead as Autumn begins to fall over the UK

After a week of clear skies and fine weather for much of the UK, Autumn is set to hit the country this week - with temperatures falling and rain spreading.

Rain will move from the South East to the North East on Monday, with temperatures staying fairly warm, in the mid-to-high teens.

However, more rain will cover the country on Tuesday, covering most of England and Scotland, spreading up Britain as the day goes on.

From Wednesday evening, the rain will lift, and there will be dryer weather across the UK for the end of the week.

North-east Scotland will be the hardest hit by the rain, with the Met Office issuing a yellow 'be aware' warning for rain issued for Angust and south Aberdeenshire.

On Tuesday, 40mm of rain is expected to fall, almost half of the monthly average of 87mm.

Although things will settle down at the end of the week, it's a sign that the colder seasons are on their way for the UK.
