A weekend-long party inspired by Ibiza is taking place near Bristol

No place in the world compares to Ibiza for hedonistic party lovers.

The Baleraric Islands are home to some of the world's greatest clubs, which all welcome a huge range of the most sought after DJs every year.

While Bristol doesn't quite match up to the Spanish clubbing haven, a new event is coming to a site near the city this May which aims to at least give us a tantalising taste of it.

Ibiza Nights presents Cafe Magna will be an "exclusive party" in a lakeside location, combining top notch beats with stunning views, taking place on Friday, May 31 and Saturday, June 1.

The party will take place in the scenic setting of Chew Valley (Publicity Picture)

It's being organised by Ben Gilks, the same man behind Gloucester Road’s summer street party, which last year drew crowds of more than 4,500.

Ben’s new pop-up party experience is inspired by the heyday of classic clubbing with a limited number of just 500 tickets per event, with separate shindigs on Friday and Saturday.

The events will be held in "luxurious tipis" on private land surrounded by ancient woodland and spectacular views across Chew Valley Lake.

Bringing together a host of Bristol DJs playing club classics, live saxophone, delicious street food, a VIP bar sponsored by premium prosecco brand Bottega Gold and Somerset favourite Thatchers Cider, an eco glitter bar and more, the events promise to bring a sophisticated party vibe to kick-off summer.

The brainchild of Ben and his school friend Lottie Bryant, the weekender will also raise money for  The Georgia Bryant Chew Valley Family Trust, set-up by Lottie in memory of her sister Georgia who passed away from Leukaemia in 2018.

"Bristolians know how to party"

Ben is looking forward to taking his popular Gloucester Road gatherings to the next level.

He said: “One thing I know after years of organising the Gloucester Road event is that Bristolians know how to party.

"We wanted to take that same vibe and create something unique and memorable; a summer escape from the city in a stunning sunset location.

“While the event is open to ticket-holders over the age of 18, we think it will really appeal to those looking for a one-off boutique clubbing experience; whether it’s the fun, fancy dress and festival vibe of Friday’s 80s night, or the sophisticated, chic and exclusive all-day Saturday event.

"It will be a weekend of good times and reminiscing for all.”
