Numerous people had a lot to say about the econonomy and the disputes that have hampered it this week. The CBI was particularly vociferous, although its grim forecasts were undermined in today's round-up.
Peace talks in various sectors appear vital. Chinese imports caused a flurry in Europe and their impounding may yet cause small retailers big problems as they move into the Autumn with no stock; the Gate Gourmet issue has been simmering along nicely this week including the sudden departure of the chairman - if they don't sort it out soon we're going to run out of cookery puns.
And recruitment was a hot topic this week. Graduates are apparently useless - this in the week of the GCSE results, too - and everybody's fibbing on their CVs.
It's enough to turn a hack to drink - although if you're in small business even that can cause more than the usual sort of headache.
Have a good weekend.
