A wedding gift for the Royal couple? How about two royal koalas

What to give the couple that seemingly has everything? How about two koalas.

As its official gift to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ahead of tomorrow's Royal wedding, the NSW Government today announced it was naming two koalas at Taronga Zoo Harry and Meghan.

And though there are no plans for the little furry fellas, who are still in their mothers' pouches, to be shipped over to the couple's residence at Nottingham Cottage in London, NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said the couple could visit them at Taronga "when you are next over here".

"Wishing Harry and Meghan a very happy wedding day tomorrow," Ms Berejiklian said in a social media post showing her posing with the animals.

"We have also donated $5,000 towards preserving koala habitats."

In a statement released last month the couple asked anyone "who might wish to mark the occasion of their wedding" to consider giving a gift to a charity instead.

Prime Minster Malcolm Turnbull is set to reveal Australia's official gift tomorrow, only hinting it is "very Australian".

Australia's official wedding gift to Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, in 2011 was a $25,000 donation to the Royal Flying Doctor Service — one of 26 charities which received donations to in lieu of wedding gifts.
