A Wallace & Gromit Pokemon-style trail is coming to Cardiff

Visitors to Cardiff will be able to take part in a Pokemon Go-style experience with Wallace and Gromit at the helm of the adventure from Friday, August 20.

Fix Up the City will take approximately one hour to complete and is launching in Cardiff and Bristol as well as in San Francisco. It will involve fun, engaging, large-scale augmented reality experiences that will play out before fans in a never before seen way, on their mobile phones.

You'll be able to interact with Wallace’s famous rocket, watch Gromit take off in his iconic plane - and even battle a colossal cleaning robot.

Fix Up The City's characters are voiced by award-winning British actor Miriam Margolyes as AI helper, Beryl, Downton Abbey's Jim Carter as Bernard Grubb, YouTuber Joe Sugg as Big Lad and Ben Whitehead as Wallace.

Available on iOS and Android smartphones, the Fix Up the City app is free to download for a limited time, and will become available to use in the Welsh city after successfully detecting a user's location in Cardiff Bay.

Aardman has paired up with leading augmented reality creators, Fictioneers, to created the Wallace and Gromit game. It follows Fictioneers’ successful launch of The Big Fix Up earlier this year, which was shortlisted for two Cannes Lions awards. Now available worldwide, the app demonstrates innovation in storytelling using the latest cutting-edge technology.
