A virtual shooting range bar is opening in Manchester

A virtual shooting range is opening in Manchester this week, where customers can pretend to fire guns over cocktails.

Point Blank is joining Deansgate's bustling bar strip, taking over the basement unit left empty by Red Door, beneath The Botanist.

The site has been carved up into booths where customers can pick up an imitation weapon and shoot targets on big screens.

It uses a simulator from the USA, with more than 200 scenarios to choose from.

Each range can be booked by groups of up to six shooters, with prices starting at £30 per hour.

Behind the bar will be a range of cocktails, beers, wines and soft drinks, served alongside a food menu featuring 'Americana style tapas' and lunchtime sandwiches.

The venue is being opened by the team behind Total Recoil, which launched at Beyond, next to the Chill Factore in Trafford, last year. That site has now closed as they focus on the new city centre venture.
