A vineyard is looking for volunteer pickers and they pay with wine

A south Wales wineyard is looking for volunteers to help pick their grapes, and they will pay with wine.

Glyndwr Vineyard, just outside Cowbridge, is asking for people to come and "spend a day in the fresh air and meet like-minded people".

The work will be all outside and socially distanced, and follow all government Covid-19 guidelines.

The vineyard says volunteers will be shown what to do, which they say is to simply cut off a bunch of grapes, chat and enjoy the surroundings.

The day will start at 9:30am, with coffee served at 11am, and lunch around 1pm where you get a chance to try their wines.

The next date is Monday, September 28, and there will be more picking dates in the coming weeks.

Wines from Glyndwr Vineyard are sold throughout Wales including Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, the Celtic Manor Resort, Glen-yr-Afon Hotel, and a number of family run delis from St David’s in Pembrokeshire to Wally’s in Cardiff.
