A vacant site in The Liberties set to transform into a beautiful new park

A vacant site in The Liberties is set transform into new park under The Liberties Greening Strategy.

Work on the site, which is located at the end of Bridgefoot Street, is expected to start by the end of the year and continue into 2020.

The Bridgefoot Street Park is one of the two flagship parks proposed under the strategy.

The park will feature a community gardens, potential cafe, terraced performance area, and play spaces with grassed and planted mounds amongst other things.

The park received its planning permission in 2017 and is expected to open to the public in late 2020.

The area will open to Bridgefoot Street, Island Street and connect through to Roe Lane, which runs through Binary Hub and Digital Hub.

A spokesperson for Dublin City Council said: “It's one of two major investments by Dublin City Council in The Liberties in the coming year.”
