A planning application has been made to convert an empty shop into a hot food takeaway in Hamilton.
The application was received by South Lanarkshire Council on May 17 and validated on May 20 and seeks to convert a former pawnbrokers into a takeaway shop.
The proposed site for the new premises is the former Albemarie Bond pawnbrokers on Quarry Street in Hamilton. The pawnbroker has closed down and the site is currently empty.
The existing layout will be changed to create a kitchen area and service area for customers.
The risk of odour from the takeaway will be addressed by an odour control system which will reduce possible smells coming from the takeaway.
The planners have included proposed waste management in line with South Lanarkshire Council requirements.
The proposed operating hours are 2pm until 11pm but exact hours are yet to be confirmed.
Neighbourhood consultation began on May 30 and will expire on June 20 with standard consultation beginning on May 30 and will end on June 13.
The deadline for determining the application is July 29.
