If you've a head for heights and were sorry to miss out on the recent zip wire event over the Tyne then another opportunity presents itself this autumn which offers a doubly good reason to get involved.
While daredevils enjoy the thrill of a Tyne Bridge Zip Slide in October they will be helping charity at the same time.
The event will be raising money to support research into finding a cure for Parkinson's Disease and is open to anyone keen to help out the charity.
A zip wire from the bridge to the Newcastle bank proved a popular addition to the entertainment on offer during city's hosting of the Heineken Cup Final this May and this fund-raiser - with a different landing point - is set to generate similar interest.
Those taking part will launch themselves from Newcastle's iconic Tyne Bridge and the zip slide will open up remarkable views of the quayside as they shoot 230 metres across the river to land on the Gateshead bank.
Anyone interested in taking part can register for £43 and must raise a minimum sponsorship for the charity of £150.
