A true underdog story

Google's getting into Dodgeball. Not the sport, but the social networking firm, according to Netimperative:

Google has made further inroads into the social networking market, buying SMS-based community network Dodgeball.com, for an undisclosed sum.

New York-based Dodgeball.com launched last year as the result of a grad-school project started by Dennis Crowley and Alex Rainert at New York University's Interactive Telecommunications Program.

The service helps members find and chat with each other using text messages sent to phones.
