A 'tree' is scaring the life out of people at Formby Beach

Daytrippers to Formby Beach were left terrified by a 'tree' that jumped out at them.

YouTuber Alvin Hub, from Manchester, set up a prank at the Victoria Road entrance to the Merseyside beach, the LiverpoolEcho reports.

He dressed from head to toe in fake leaves and stood next to a tree - before jumping out at unsuspecting people walking past.

People's hilarious reactions were caught on camera.

In part of the video's description on YouTube, Alvin wrote: "[This] was the best of all pranks. Everyone was so focused on getting to the beach, but [they] never saw the bushman standing there.

"I have never had such a wonderful moment filming pranks and it was a privilege to meet some awesome people with the best sense of humour."

Footage shows people of all ages being startled by the 'bushman' as they walked to and from the beach, most of whom who took it in their stride.

The video has been viewed almost 80,000 times, with thousands of likes.

Comments have been posted from people in places as far as Brazil.

One commenter wrote: "You're amazing. Keep up the great work. I look forward to seeing your next video"

Another said: "Haha that's brilliant mate"

Alvin has videos of the same prank in various locations on his YouTube channel.
