A tram and a van have collided in Droylsden

A tram and a van have collided in Droylsden.

Police were called to reports of a collision on Ashton Road, near the tram stop at around 4.30pm on Monday afternoon.

Photos from the scene show damage to the side of a van and the front of a tram.

Traffic service Inrix is reporting that the site was cleared by around 6.20pm and traffic has returned to normal.

There are some ongoing minor delays on the Ashton-under-Lyne Metrolink line.

Services travelling in both directions between Ashton-under-Lyne and Droylsden are affected.

GMP said: "At around 4.30pm on Monday 2 November 2020, police were called to reports of a collision on Ashton Road, Droylsden.

"Officers are in attendance."
