'A threat to society!' - Chelsea fans furious with what Kepa Arrizabalaga did against Luton Town

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga had a moment to forget during the Blues' FA Cup fourth round clash with Luton Town at Stamford Bridge this lunchtime.

Leading 2-0 thanks to an opening 20-minute brace from striker Tammy Abraham, Chelsea's advantage was halved on the half hour mark as the Hatters pulled a goal back through midfielder Jordan Clark.

Right-back James Bree sent over a cross from the right-wing, picked out Clark inside the penalty and his low shot on the volley had just enough power on it for Arrizabalaga to be unable to hold onto it, as the ball squirmed off his right hand and into the net.

With opportunities having been hard to come by for the Spaniard this season, he will have been furious with himself for allowing the Hatters a route back into the contest.

Remarkably, with Stamford Bridge empty, you could hear Arrizabalaga, as he sat on the turf in disbelief, screaming an almighty noise of frustration and anger about his mistake.

Unsurprisingly, it wasn't just Arrizabalaga that was angry, as Chelsea's supporters, though not present in the stand directly behind his goal, made their displeasures heard on social media.

Here, football.london has taken a close look at what some Blues fans had to say on Twitter in response to his costly error...

Arrizabalaga's mistake is the latest on a long list of errors he has committed in his Chelsea career, with the former Athletic Bilbao man having come under great scrutiny since joining the Blues back in 2018.

After failing to produce the goods last season, Frank Lampard, the Chelsea head coach made the decision to add a new goalkeeper to his ranks, landing Edouard Mendy from French outfit Rennes.

This lunchtime's tussle with Luton has marked Arrizabalaga's has marked his sixth appearance of the season in all competitions. In those six outings, he has kept just one clean sheet.
