A teary Philip Rivers gave such an honest answer about his NFL career

Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers finished their season on Sunday with a 31-21 loss to Patrick Mahomes and Chiefs in Kansas City.

It was a disappointing end to another disappointing season for the Chargers, who were the sexy pick by many before the season started to go to the Super Bowl. Instead they finished 5-11 and in last place in the AFC West.

Sunday might have been the last game of Rivers’ career with the Chargers, too. Rivers has spent his entire 16-year career with this franchise and after the game he got emotional while talking about what his time with the team has meant to him:

“I couldn’t have tried any harder.” That is some good, honest stuff from Rivers.

The QB has had a great career with the Chargers, but he’s never been able to get them to a Super Bowl.

Now we’ll have to wait and see what’s next for him.
