Having spent November in Berlin on a journalist exchange at Spiegel Online – that's me in the green scarf – I was struck by the contrasting fortunes of the German and British Green parties.
While the German Greens, who celebrate their 25th anniversary today, govern in coalition with Gerhard Schröder's Social Democrats, their British counterparts would count themselves lucky to win a single seat at the forthcoming general election.
